Biography

Tyrone was born in Birmingham in 1970. He took up the bass in 1987 when he was 17 and joined several Big Bands to improve his sight-reading. Moved down to the South of England in 1991 and left music alone for a couple of years and picked up the bass again in 1996 and worked as a full time musician.

In 1999 he returned to Birmingham and did a Degree in Jazz at Birmingham Conservatoire. He has had the good fortune of having received instruction from Dave Holland and Rufus Reid, has also had the opportunity to perform, record and tour with such notable musicians as Herb Geller, Soweto Kinch, Digby Fairweather, Alan Barnes, Mike Burney and Bruce Adams among others.

He is lucky enough to be able to make his living as a freelance musician and has recently finished a three month tour in Germany, Austria and Spain with a West End Show called 'The Rat Pack Live From Vegas'.

He is also a prolific composer and a number of his tunes can be heard being played by his trio.

He loves Jazz and loves the double bass.
